You have a question, or experience an issue regarding Keirox content or more in general custom maps ? You’re in the right place.
A. How to install a custom map ?
- Create an account on Dropbox or use any direct download platform.
- Import the map file on dropbox and create a link using the share Replace the dl=0 at the end by dl=1 for direct download link.
- Remove server.worldsize, server.seed, server.level in your server config (if possible)
Add server.levelurl “direct map download link”
Some servers host might have different ways to use custom maps. If still can’t use the custom map after following those steps, please contact your server host.
- Note that all custom maps that we offer require RustEdit extension by k1lly0u. This extension handle loots, cargoship path, puzzles, bradley and more.
- Once downloaded, install it in your RustDedicated_Data/Managed in your server FTP. If you don’t have access to this folder, ask your host to install it for you. Some host might also already have an option to auto-install RustEdit extension.
B. How to edit a map or use the custom prefabs/monuments that this website offer ?
- You can do this by using RustEdit by k1lly0u. (You maybe need an account to download)
- To edit a map, simply open the .map file using Open Map button.
- To place a custom monument, first make sure that you added the .prefab files into your CustomPrefabs folder in your RustEdit directory folder. Then at the top menu, click on Prefab list, then go in category Custom. All the custom prefabs/monuments will be displayed there. Double click or drag to place them.
As long as the servers belong to you, you can use my custom maps on all of them.
C. Where can i find help about map making ?
- Rust Map Making community is a great place for that. There is plenty of people ready to help you when you need. You can also join RustEdit discord wich is dedicated to the use of RustEdit app. (RustEdit discord is reserved to patreon members)
D. I purchased a map or a custom prefab/monument. Do i get free updates ?
- Yes. You can download updates at any time using your account download page, or Keirox Custom Maps discord.
