Map Update : The Earth Apocalypse – Above ground train rails, debug and more

Hello ! This map update bring the new above ground train rails on the map, optimizations bug fixes.

 

  • Fixed Cargoship crashing into an island when it’s going back out of the map.
  • Fixed a redcard door not opening in a scientist outpost monument.
  • Optimized topology
  • Reduced the amount of rockformations on the map and removed handplaced small rocks wich was being confusing as they were same size as the ore stones, instead they will be generated and smaller, this reduce the prefab amount on the map.
  • Removed the Ruined building in Europe, as it was an old building and impact too much on performance. It has been replaced with a Gas Station, and will be replaced again later with the new upcoming Facepunch monument (oil refinery).
  • As there was too many structures in the city, The Desert Military Base has been moved from City to the Dome monument location. The Dome has been moved to South America, replacing the outpost monument wich was too high prefab count. This improve performance.
  • Extended Snow Biome at the Artic Base.
  • Temporarily removed Empire State Building, World Trade Center and 2 small collapsed building in the City.

Since latest rust updates, somehow it created issues with the map and server was not starting. The console was also spamming navmesh animal spawn errors. After days of verifications and debugging, it seems that this issue also happen on other maps and even procedural maps, and on The Earth it was caused by a too dense amount of structures in a small area, in the city. After removing the 2 towers and 2 small building, the map work with no issues. So i temporarily removed them the time the issue get fixed to implement them back.

You can still find red keycards in Hoover Dam monument, the Artic base, and the AC-130 monument. Blue cards can still be found in the city buildings, and green cards can be found almost everywhere.
